Y5/6 Sheffield Aqua-Fest Swimming Gala

Today the Y5/6 Sheffield Aqua-Fest Swimming Gala took place.  Aqua-fest is a series of fun games and activities linked to swimming/aquatic skills.  The event was targeted at a range of pupils and teams should consisted of both Foundation and Advanced Swimmers.

Races included: 

– 25M Freestyle- Advanced
– 25M Freestyle on front- Foundation (Kick float or woggle)
– 25M Backstroke- Advanced
– 25M Backstroke- Foundation (Kick float or woggle)
– 25M Breaststroke- Advanced
– 25M Breaststroke- foundation on front (Kick float or woggle)
– 4 x 25m freestyle (2 advanced swimmers & 2 Foundation swimmers)
– 1 x 25m Paired race- both participants use the woggle- and kick together to get to the end.

Everyone who took part swam incredibly well!  It was fantastic to see so many schools entering the pool for the Gala!

The event was arranged by the four Sheffield School Games Organiser, together with the SCC Swim Service and SIV, in order to offer Sheffield Schools a swimming gala linked to the South Yorkshire School Games.
