The Schools

We’d like to start off by saying a big congratulations to all the Links schools who took part in the Y4 Hotshot Basketball competitions against their cluster of schools and who made it through to the Links Final.

The Competitions

After competing against their cluster schools 4 schools made it through to the School Games Final in Sheffield on the 4th March.  These 4 schools were Prince Edwards, St Wilfrids, Nook Lane and Outibridge.  All these 4 schools worked incredibly hard to get to this point and played some amazing basketball to qualify.  They showed real skill and determination against all the schools in a lot of fierce competition.

At the end of the School Games Finals St Wilfrids had qualified for the South Yorkshire School Games Final on the 12th March at the EIS, home of the Sheffield Sharks.  A congratulations for the other 3 schools for making it all the way to the Sheffield finals as well, everyone one did a brilliant job!

South Yorkshire Final

The South Yorkshire Final was always going to be a tough competition with all the best schools from the South Yorkshire region being present and ready to play basketball.  After  some excellent playing and great determination St Wilfrids managed to come away with a bronze medal! A massive congratulations to St Wilfrids for winning this medal and a well done to all the other schools involved.

We now look forward to some more Hotshot Basketball events and for the rest of the competitions taking place this year!
