Thank You!
We would like to start this half terms newsletter by saying a big thank you to all the Primary and Secondary schools who have supported Links to continue the passionate work that we conduct in bringing great sporting opportunities to children across sheffield. Your support has been fundamental in maintaining the unique network of Sports coordinators and Sports coaches. It has allowed us to ensure the profile of sport remains high for your students and the students across Sheffield. The Contributions made have given us the confidence to plan a years’ programme of events ranging from Athletics to dance, from orienteering to basketball and to engage with as many children as possible. In addition I would like to thank All Saints Catholic High School for their support through the recent transition process and who have been working with Links to enable the Partnership to continue to deliver high quality sport and physical activity across our schools.
Big, Yet Exciting, Changes…
You are aware that along with funding cuts we no longer have a national strategy for PE and Sport. This has allowed us the freedom to shape and design a programme based on your pupil’s needs and your schools areas of interest. We would like to encourage your school to be represented at a local steering group meeting lead by your School Sport Coordinator where information on upcoming events will be shared. We would like your school to help shape each terms focus and put your priorities in terms of CPD, competition, resourcing support and other local areas of interest. Meetings will be held each term and information is always available from your SSCo.
Look out for information on the School Games and how your school can get involved. This Newsletter will be circulated to keep you up to date of activities across the whole partnership. Please pass this onto any interested parties.
