Step into Sport

Sports leaders from Sheffield were inspired to deliver inclusive activities today following a talk from British tennis player Jade Windley.

Jade chatted the students, before Sports leaders from Sheffield Springs Academy, and Sheffield Park Academy learnt how to lead the following inclusive sports:- Boccia, New Age Kurling, and Volleyball.  They also learnt how to adapt these sessions using the STEP approach.

After the sports leaders felt comfortable in their ability to deliver these sports, they taught disabled sports leaders from the Sheaf Centre how to lead the activities.

Once the sports leaders fro Springs, Park, and Sheaf were trained up, they supported each other in delivering these activities to groups of disabled young people.

The sports leaders were fantastic, and were a credit to themselves, and their schools!  They all worked incredibly hard, and were very supportive of each other.

We look forward to seeing all the sports leaders at our upcoming events! Well done everyone!
