School Games Level 2 SEND Boccia and Kurling

We would like to say a big thank you to all of you who took part in the School Games SEND Boccia and Kurling Tournament yesterday!

The morning started with the KS3/4 Boccia and Kurling events.  Sheaf Training, King Edwards, Handsworth Grange, and Forge Valley all worked incredibly hard, trying to get their boccia balls as close as they could to the jack, and their kurling stones close to the target.  Everyone who took part clearly demonstrated the School Games values of honesty and respect!  King Edwards took the winning crown in the boccia, and Forge Valley won the Kurling.

The afternoon saw the KS2 Boccia and Kurling events, with Phillimore A & B teams, Norfolk Park, St Patricks, Mundella, and Beck all competing to be crowned the Sheffield champions!  Everyone demonstrated fantastic team spirit, and excellence throughout the competition – some of the matches were so close!  St Patricks won the boccia event, whilst Phillimore A won the Kurling event!

We would also like to take the time to thank all of the teachers for working extremely hard to get all the students out of school to the event, and also to our volunteers for the day, who helped ensure the competition ran smoothly by refereeing end after end!  Thank you all!
