Just before half-term Links held the 2012 Movement Festival at the City Hall.  Many schools attended with some very diverse and innovative dance routines to some great tracks!  There were two sessions that day, 12-2pm and 4-6pm.

Dances were performed to tracks ranging from Justin Bieber to even the Haka Dance as performed by the New Zealand rugby team.  This gave the event much more than just a dance event but allowed the children to show their understanding of how different cultures perform dances in a variety of ways.

The crowd showed amazing appreciation and support for the all the groups with non stop cheering and applause for all the acts.  This made the atmosphere in the room electric with excitement from start to finish making it even more exciting for the dancers involved.

Links would like to say a big thank you to everyone involved from the children taking part to the teachers and Hallam Students who choreographed the routines to the parents who came to support the children on the day.  Without everyone involved the festival wouldn’t be the huge success that it was in such a grand place as the City Hall!  We’d also like to thank all the volunteers on the day who helped make the event run smoothly.

Below is a short compilation video of the Performaces from the morning session showing just how exciting it was and the real variety of dance’s involved. Enjoy!
