MOVband Challenge Trial Update

I’ve been using the MOVband for 4 days now to see how it works and whether it can increase my general, daily activity.  After the initial set up I have worn it continuously for all my daily activity whilst at work and at home and I have been surprised by the amount of activity I already do but feel I could drastically increase this.

Initial Setup

The initial setup was pretty straight forward with just entering my details into the watch and signing up to the challenge page online.  Once I was signed up to the page online I can submit all my results for each day so I can track my activity.  This is a really useful tool as it helps you to visualise your activity and helps to stick to goals easier.

Once the watch and online account were set up wearing the watch was as simple as just putting a watch on!  It quite simple is as easy as putting the watch on and doing what you would normally do.  Nice and simple and easy to use.

Activity So Far

So in 4 days how much movement and activity have I done?  Well the running total is 41 miles so far with a mixture between walking and circuits I do myself.  This was a slightly larger total then I expected as I felt on a few of the days I think I could quite easily have done more activity.

Here is a breakdown of my days:

Day 1 – 9.5 miles

Day 2 – 10.7 miles

Day 3 – 6 miles

Day 4 – 13.5 miles

This has been from Friday until Monday with Monday being a surprisingly busy day.  This is one of my fairly active days in schools and I also have some circuit training at night.  It will be interesting to see which activities during the day I can do to increase this result but I certainly feel it achievable.  One thing I have noticed is that whilst wearing the watch I am very aware of how much activity I am doing and could see that even if I just parked further away from schools I could possibly increase my activity.

On Friday I will be halfway through the challenge and making plans on how I can increase my activity so stay tuned for a big update!
