Mossbrook School Selected as a Centre of Excellence for Physical Education and Sport
Centres of Excellence are hubs of expertise and outstanding practice in their specialist areas. They have a proven track record of securing improved outcomes for young people.
Mossbrook School regularly attend a wide range of Links SSP events and festivals, use Links coaches to upskill their staff in PE and School Sport, and use a wide range of PE curriculum resources to ensure that the students consistently receive high quality PE and School Sport.
In addition the school have a focus on healthy eating, with a weekly baking slot, a cooking club, and a split dinner time to increase pupil/staff interaction on the table, and on the playground. As a result, pupils have developed their physical skills and competence, an increase calmness at dinner times, and pupils have engaged and interacted with food on a frequent basis.
The school has also seen an increased level of attainment, with pupils having increased their social, personal, and citizenship skills.
