Talbot and their Bronze Kitemark

Talbot Specialist School have recently managed to achieve the Bronze Kitemark Statues for the School Games!  This is an incredible achievement by the school and hopefully we can see them make it all the way to Gold!

What is Kitemark?

If you’re wondering what the Kitemark actually is here is what the School Games website has to say:

The Kitemark rewards school for their commitment to and the development of school sport and competition and was first launched in June 2012 via the Sainsbury’s School Games website.

There are 3 levels of Kitemark a school can achieve; Bronze, SIlver and Gold.  Once a Kitemark level is achieved the school can proudly display their Kitemark in their school and also on letters!

How do I achieve Kitemark?

If you’re wanting to achieve a Kitemark for your school begin by registering your school so you can start logging your events.  Here are the criteria to achieve bronze, if you want to find out about silver or gold then check them out at the School games website:

Bronze

  • Provide the appropriate number of Sainsbury’s School Games events for both boys and girls in the academic year.
  • Engage at least 5% of students in leading, managing and officiating School Games events.
  • Offer opportunities that enable 25% (15% for Special Schools) to engage in extra-curricular activity.

If you want a location to login you can also use the Links website.  If you have a teachers login (which you can get from us) simply login and select the relevant option!

We hope that we can work together to help more of our schools achieve their Kitemark status and get fully engaged with the Sainsburys School Games.

If you want to get in touch to find out how you can work towards your kitemark status e-mail us at info@links-ssp.com and we will help you through the process.
