Four Sheffield schools took part in the National Cricket initiative ‘Chance to Shine’. As part of the programme Sheffield United Cricket Club delivered several training sessions in the schools before playing host to the Sheffield U16 ‘SEN Cricket Finals’ during National School Sport week
The Four Sheffield schools Fir Vale, Seven Hills, Holgate Meadows and Bents Green battled it out to earn the title of Sheffield Champions. The standard was extremely high and all four teams showed a great competitive spirit. Bents Green School went on to represent South Yorkshire in the County Finals at Headingley Stadium. They competed against eight other schools from across the Yorkshire region to gain the title of Yorkshire Champions. “The best experience ever” was how one student described playing at Headingley Stadium for the first time. Well done Bents Green!!
