Thursday 28th March saw the Sheffield Disability Network Celebration Event, which came together because of the fantastic partnership we share with Sheffield City Council, and the venue funded by Sheffield City Trust.

The council worked with lots of local partners to provide the opportunity for 150 adults with learning difficulties to take part in multiple activities around the English Institute of Sport. Running, Cycling, Table Tennis, Dance, and Boxing were just a few of the sports that the adults engaged in!

Links School Sport Partnership ran a SEND Athletics event for around 260 students, and also worked in partnership with the Activity Alliance to provide MATP (Motor Activity Training Programme) Activities for around 40 students with profound and multiple learning difficulties.

In the afternoon there was a dance festival to celebrate the fantastic work of both the special schools, and community groups. It was absolutely outstanding!

We want to thank everyone for attending, and for making the event a huge success! Well done everyone – and here’s to next year!
