You may recall earlier this year we posted about a fantastic runner, Nicola Squires who raised over £1,000 by running around the Peak District from 7:18am until sunset on Friday December 21st 2018, to help fund the running community through Links School Sport Partnership schools.

Some of the funds were utilised to put on a Fun Run, and two of these events took place over the last couple of days, attracting over 1,000 children to the event from schools across Sheffield!

Springs Academy also brought a truly exceptional group of sports leaders to support the event through volunteering, they did an incredible job motivating the children throughout the course!

It was amazing to see the running community coming together to celebrate a fantastic sport, and see how much the children have improved their running through the targeted coaching that they have received thanks to the funds Nicola managed to raise! What a truly amazing woman to have help inspire Sheffield’s next generation of runners – thank you Nicola!
